The ROY still dominates

Justin Verlander 這位去年度(2006)美聯新人獎的得主，
在6/12面對釀酒人隊的比賽中，投出個人生涯首次的無安打比賽(no-hitter)，
上回底特律老虎隊投出無安打比賽的投手必須回溯到1984年的Jack Morris，
當時Verlander只有一歲。



這場比賽是美聯今年的第二場no-hitter，前一場是4/18。
榮耀歸於白襪的Mark Buehrle，苦主則是Texas Rangers的打者。
Verlander在這場個人秀中，用了112個球，僅僅投出了4個保送，
釀酒人隊對於他的投球束手無策，還被K了12人次。
Verlander以這場具紀念意義的比賽，拿下今年的第7勝，ERA降至2.79。

提到2006年的rookie pitcher、提到no-hitter，
不得要提一下Marlins的Anibal Sanchez。
這位二年級生，去年在新人球季就投出了一場no-hitter(2006/9/6)，
全年更繳出10勝3負、ERA:2.83的佳績。
不過這位年輕投手，在今年似乎有點放不大開，
在年初6場先發交出2勝1負、ERA:4.80的尚可成績後，
就被Marlins動用option下放3A。
關於他的問題，投手教練Rick Kranitz表示，
"He can set up to put the guy away with his fastball. He can use his fastball in so many different ways where so many other guys can't. He got away from that. He started using a lot of offspeed [pitches]. That's not him. That's not what he's about. You can do that, but he's always been a guy who attacked with his fastball and then threw his breaking stuff over when he needed it. It became more of a priority for him to throw his breaking stuff, his secondary stuff, too much."
"He needs to work on strike one, strike two and putting the hitter away."

被下放3A後沒多久，Sanchez又因為『肩膀不適』(shoulder tendinitis)被放進了15天的DL。其實在一月份，他就因此進行了一次MRI檢查，不過在春訓期間他覺得情況已改善，也順利成為Marlins的三號先發。
6/11的消息，指出他在試投時依然覺得不適，Marlins已經安排與Dr. James Andrews 進行更詳盡的檢查。
